Why this tool exists
Generated drafts tend to share the same texture: heavy em dashes, predictable transitions ('Furthermore', 'Additionally', 'Moreover'), uniform sentence length, sophisticated vocabulary where simple words would do, and an absence of contractions or hedges. The result is prose that is grammatical and dull.
A rule-based rewriter fixes those patterns directly instead of generating new text. That has two big advantages over LLM-based rewriters: it's deterministic (you can re-run it and get the same output) and it can't hallucinate facts into your writing. The trade-off is that it's most effective on shorter passages where the structural changes have visible impact.
